A Greenwich Home Blends Modern Design with Timeless Warmth and Elegance

This 8,000-square-foot Greenwich residence, built in collaboration with Tanner White Architects and Morgan Harrison Home, stands as a testament to that vision—an extraordinary blend of modern design, timeless elegance, and personal warmth.

The exterior, described by architect Tanner White as “updated traditional,” marries shingled peaks reminiscent of New England’s architectural heritage with sleek modern lines. The result is a home that feels grounded in history yet forward-thinking in its execution. “To a passerby, the house has a substantial, even stately presence,” the homeowner shared, “but inside, it’s open and airy with a sense of intimacy.”

Inside, interior designer Michelle Morgan Harrison brought her talent for transformation to soften the house’s initial starkness. “This is a fantastic modern house, but it was cold and masculine. My job was to warm it up,” she explained. Through the use of soft colors and curated furnishings, she created a space that feels serene, inviting, and deeply personal.

For the family, the result is more than just a home—it’s a sanctuary. “I sometimes feel like I am living outdoors,” the homeowner reflected, pointing to the balance between the house’s openness and the cozy charm reminiscent of older homes they’ve loved. This harmony, they added, “is pretty perfect for us.”
